And…
To the days when the world was not its real self… But was just the bubbles of protection woven around him…
“Tum ho…Tum ho paas mere…Saath mere…Tum Yoon…”
Mohit Chauhans haunting voice loops…
He wanted to drive… Just keep on driving till the other end of the town… Drive down the empty traffic free streets of Bangalore… Drive till his heart told him to stop… It always did know the way…
But then, this time the mind was fighting for it’s place. It was holding on firmly to the walls that it had worked hard to build… Walls that had never been scratched, even by the strongest of substances, were now crumbling… Bit by bit…
The fight was real and it was painful… The waves were lashing with fury, flowing right into the holes that were now visible all across the great wall…
And at the same time the sun was shining in all it’s glorious best… Drying away all the water that flowed in…
A cataclysmic chaos that at times threatened to disturb the stolid facade that had taken years to master… and at times to even put on a real smile instead of the masks for show, it had learnt…
He wanted to drive on as the heart commanded… That very moment… But did not…
“Not yet… Soon… When winter is here… Can spring be far…”, He comforted himself touching his aching chest…
“Jo bhi main kehna chahoon…Barbaad Kare alfaaz mere…Alfaaz mere…”
The haunting voice went on…
………………………………………..
Running through the drafts of years gone, as I sit in the darkness, in a foreign land…
With only the sound of waves, silently crashing over my feet, pulling me deeper into the soft sand’s embrace… I realise, how much life has changed…
While, I had not written a word in three years, it was also the first time I truly was alone in both mind & body…
Writing had been subsumed by work and the melancholy of solitude, had been replaced with the peace of love…
Melancholy & Pain, are truly great carriers of art, as the mind drowns to the netherworld of darkness….
But, why not peace & love, is the question I ask myself… As Arijit croons…
“Muskurane ki wajah tum ho
gungunane ki wajah tum ho… “
