I Closed My Eyes… And the Mountains Echoed… “For you a Thousand Times Over…”

I sit here, in the darkness of the cozy room as images flash across my souls eye of a fast fading distant past…

From the majesty of those frigid peaks housing many an abode of power and tradition,

To the cozy hearths that kindle innocent love in little hills, where time stands still,

To the vagaries in the mood of river goddesses who flow along, kissing every soul they meet, spreading the seed of life to this beautiful country of many a glorious paradox,

To the vastness of heaven itself, where the sun makes love to its separated lover, rolling around on that carpet of golden sand,

To that kind old lady from Aligarh, whose name I did not ask, ever smiling and full of life, who taught me the pleasure of touching another soul,

To falling in love with love itself, just as, with the Mozart from home,

To the day I left, a date, forever immortalized by a friendly voice,

And now, to the day I return…

Who am I, I ask myself…

And then, I know…
Somewhere between here and there,
Between us and them,
The answer I lost…

Because, between now and never, anything can happen…

And as I close my eyes,
The mountains echoed…
“For you a thousand times over…”
