Colors We Cannot Wash!

A sheet of paper in its day,

Sought an artist for a play,

Find it did,

A beautiful hand,

To paint a shade in its stand…

Carelessly sought,

Thoughtlessly wrought,

Black, Blue, White and Red,

Colors aplenty on the land,

Days together in the drying stand…

Wasting time,

In the game of dimes,

Waiting for that final touch,

Fortune had a different rhyme,

Never to see that hand again…

The paints were dry and set to stay,

Washes ended in a useless way,

Not a speck moved away,

Mortals caught in Time’s Sway,

Somethings cannot be wished away…
